Ohio, 2021 — The Somali community in Ohio gathered to celebrate literature and culture at a recent book fair featuring Cries Hinterland, authored by Abdirizak Warfa. The event attracted writers, scholars, and community leaders who came together to honor Somali storytelling and cultural preservation.

Organized by Kawther Musa and Sheekh Horsed, the fair provided a platform for authors to engage with readers and for the community to celebrate Somali literary achievements. Many notable Somali leaders attended, demonstrating strong support for education, literature, and the arts.
